Prevention is better than cure, so to begin with, we recommend not walking with your shoes on the rug. This will keep the wool clean and soft much longer. Besides, you can't machine wash the rug, so how do you clean your sheepskins? It is best to remove all coarse and loose dirt first. You do this by patting or vacuuming the rug, for example. Then you can brush the bristles with our special wool comb. This will remove the remaining dirt and the wool bristles will become decrusted and nice and soft again. Are there stains in the wool? Then it is best to remove them with a damp cloth with a mild solution of wool detergent. Wool from Texel is truly special. The island has some 20,000 sheep, grazing happily in the green pastures. They are the true suppliers of our Texel wool products and coats. The wool from Texel sheep is exceptionally soft and insulating. This is because the sheep are allowed to stand outside and enjoy the fresh wind and sea air. As a result, they produce more wool fat (or lanolin), which gives their fleece and wool a unique texture. The coats and Texel wool products are of exceptionally high quality: you won't find them anywhere else!
