How can I clean my sheepskin rug?
Prevention is better than cure, so to begin with, we recommend not walking with your shoes on the rug. This will keep the wool clean and soft much longer. Besides, you can't machine wash the rug, so how do you clean your sheepskins?
It is best to remove all coarse and loose dirt first. You do this by patting or vacuuming the rug, for example. Then you can brush the bristles with our special wool comb. This will remove the remaining dirt and the wool bristles will become decrusted and nice and soft again.
Are there stains in the wool? Then it is best to remove them with a damp cloth with a mild solution of wool detergent. Be careful not to get the leather side of the sheepskin rug wet, it will eventually become stiff and that would be a shame.
