We have our knitting wool made from the shorn wool of the farmers of Texel. There are many Texel farmers who keep sheep and after the sheep have had their shearing, we collect the wool and have it washed and processed into a beautiful ball of wool. This is an artisanal process that allows the natural sheep wool, eht to come into its own. This creates a unique bun of knitting yarn, which you can use again for your creative knitting or crochet project. The sheep wool we use comes from the Texel breed of sheep, which actually live on the island. Because of the island climate, the wool is rough and thick, but still wonderfully soft.

The Skéépe Texel knitting wool exists in two varieties; a knot of wool consisting of 1 thread and a knot of wool consisting of two twisted threads. With the twisted threads, the two strands of wool yarn are twisted around each other. Texel wool is known for its thick wool fiber and high quality. Texel wool has a thick wool fiber and is hard-wearing.
