How do I maintain my Olive Green sheepskin?

Any dirty spots on the coat can be dabbed clean with a damp cloth. Avoid the leather side, if the leather side gets wet it will dry hard. That is why we also advise not to wash the coat in the washing machine.

For a natural cleaning of your sheepskin, you can use the snow when there is snow. Snow absorbs dirt and dispels odours. Place the sheepskin with the hairs down on the snow, press it gently and let the fleece soak in for half an hour. Then hang the fleece out and let it dry slowly.

    Removing stains: Stains in the wool are best removed with a slightly damp cloth. Make sure that the leather side does not get wet.

    Beating: Beat the skin occasionally outdoors to remove dust, dirt and loose wool hairs.

    Brushing: During use, the wool of the skin may become slightly matted. By brushing the skin occasionally with our wool comb, the wool will become light and soft again.

    Vacuuming: Vacuuming your skin on a low setting and preferably with a furniture brush will remove loose dirt.

    Odour: A sheepskin may smell like sheep at first. If you find this unpleasant, it is best to simply start using the skin. The skin will then naturally take on the scent of your environment.

    Extra fresh: Air the skin outside or hang it in the mist for natural refreshment. Please note: a sheepskin cannot be washed.

    Can I wash a sheepskin?

    That depends on the type of sheepskin. Our regular sheepskins are not washable. Please refer to our care instructions for more information.
    The medicinal sheepskins are washable. However, do this as little as possible to preserve the lanolin in the skin. Always wash a sheepskin on a special wool programme and allow it to dry as slowly as possible. A skin should never be put in the dryer.

    Can I return or exchange a sheepskin?
    Yes, we offer a one-time free exchange or return if the skin is not what you expected. This must be done within 14 days and can be done through our returns system. Here you can indicate whether you want a different skin or a refund. The skin must, of course, be unused.
    What is the difference between a medicinal sheepskin and a regular sheepskin?
    Good question!
    A medicinal sheepskin is short-shorn, washable and often yellowish in colour due to the special tanning process. This skin is widely used in healthcare for pressure and joint complaints.
    A regular sheepskin has the natural wool length and is available in many different colours. Regular sheepskins are especially popular because of their natural comfort and warm appearance in the home and garden.
