Medicinal sheepskin small

Description

Medicinal lambskin 100x60 cm made from Texel sheepskin

Looking for a smaller medicinal sheepskin? This medicinal sheepskin has been shorn short and is therefore ideal for complaints that arise from sitting or lying down for long periods of time. The smaller size of the medicinal Texel sheepskin can easily be used in the seat of a chair or, for example, at the foot of the bed.

The Unique Advantages of Our Medicated Sheepskins

Natural pressure reduction and prevention of pressure ulcers

Our medicated lambskin is designed to distribute pressure evenly, preventing pressure ulcers. The closely cropped wool of this Texel sheepskin forms a soft, supportive layer that relieves local pressure points. Ideal for use under the tailbone or at the foot end to relieve pressure on the heels.

A sheepskin does not overheat due to its moisture and temperature regulating effect

The natural wool of the Texel sheep has moisture and temperature regulating properties. This means that the wool in the coat breathes and wicks away moisture, regardless of the temperature. This prevents the coat from overheating or sweating and creates a pleasant and dry climate for your skin.

Our Texel sheepskins are natural and sustainable

Our skins come from sheep that have lived freely on the island of Texel. The Texel sheep is also known for its thick, resilient wool, which results in a beautiful quality medicinal sheepskin. A truly natural, sustainable and local product.

Use and washing of a medicinal sheepskin

Ideal for relieving local pressure complaints

The smaller size of this medicinal lambswool makes it ideal for the targeted relief of pressure points. Its size makes it easy to use in your chair, or in bed for your heels or under your tailbone. If you would prefer a larger fleece to support your entire body or if you have complaints in several areas, you might want to consider our extra large medicinal sheepskin.

Care product for prolonged sitting or lying down

This medicinal sheepskin is an essential care product for anyone who sits or lies down for long periods of time. It offers natural relief and helps prevent bedsores.

Keep the sheepskin hygienic by washing the sheepskin fleece

A medicinal sheepskin can be washed in moderation. So only wash your coat when it is really necessary. Wool is dirt-repellent, so frequent washing is not really necessary. Wash the coat in the machine on a special wool programme at a maximum temperature of 30 degrees. It is best to let the coat dry as slowly as possible. Air dry it and definitely do not put it in the dryer! The rotating motion of the drum will felt the wool. So hang the coat to dry in the bathroom, preferably lying flat. While drying, you can occasionally stretch the coat so that the leather becomes supple again.

All medicinal sheepskins are washable in moderation. They can be washed, but if it is not really necessary, it is better to postpone washing. For example, use our wool comb to brush out the dirt or let your sheepskin air outside for a while.

If you really want to wash it, do so as follows:

    • Wash on a special wool programme with a wool detergent.
    • Never wash at temperatures higher than 30 degrees.
    • After washing, allow the skin to dry as slowly as possible (never in the tumble dryer or near the heating!). It is best to dry the rug flat, for example in the bathroom. If the rug dries too quickly, it will become stiff.
    • Stretch the leather gently from time to time during drying. This will ensure that your rug remains supple.

    FAQs

    Can I wash a sheepskin?

That depends on the type of sheepskin. Our regular sheepskins are not washable. Please refer to our care instructions for more information.
The medicinal sheepskins are washable. However, do this as little as possible to preserve the lanolin in the skin. Always wash a sheepskin on a special wool programme and allow it to dry as slowly as possible. A skin should never be put in the dryer.

Can I return or exchange a sheepskin?
Yes, we offer a one-time free exchange or return if the skin is not what you expected. This must be done within 14 days and can be done through our returns system. Here you can indicate whether you want a different skin or a refund. The skin must, of course, be unused.
What is the difference between a medicinal sheepskin and a regular sheepskin?
    Good question!
A medicinal sheepskin is short-shorn, washable and often yellowish in colour due to the special tanning process. This skin is widely used in healthcare for pressure and joint complaints.
A regular sheepskin has the natural wool length and is available in many different colours. Regular sheepskins are especially popular because of their natural comfort and warm appearance in the home and garden.
